If I actually KNEW how to put one of these as my LJ background I would...but haven't figured it out and am too shy up till now to ask...how do you do it?

You know, I actually don't know a whole lot about playing with LJ layouts. It's something I keep meaning to investigate, but never have the time. If I figure it out, I'll let you know. :)

Have you created your layout by yourself or is it a lj-public-layout? If it's a public layout you have to check, if you can put photos in the background. Go to lj-costumize to edit your layout, choose 'background' there you can see if it's got the option for a photo. You have to save the wallpaper into photobucket, and type the url into the right place...
I just found out about these things a few days ago, so I hope I could help ;)
