Last night I went out with some old friends - one of them turned 25 and was celebrating his birthday. We went to Red Robin first, and Pitchers (a bar/club) afterwards. I hadn't realized just how far removed from 'normal' society I was until I went there. I must say, after watching people attempt to 'dance' (personally I'd call it standing in ( Read more... )

Yeah, I had an experience somewhat like that a few weeks ago when I went to a yuppie bar. It was made even worse by drinking hell liquor.

I was sober throughout the whole thing - I was wishing I didn't have to drive home when I saw the antics of some of the people on the dance floor - drunken stupors tend to help make me oblivious (beyond my normal obliviousness, that is). I was fortunately with some friends though, so I had something to help take my mind off of the clusterfuck commonly referred to as 'the general public'.

I'm sorry I missed it. I owe Jay. I even told Daniel I'd be there. Poop. I almost got my friends to go, but the guys I hang out with, tend to get kicked out everytime. The bouncers just don't like them. They are harmless guys. Maybe with the exception of one. I think you would have liked my friend John the Welder. Likes a little bit of the darker side and dances just like he doesn't care. Anyway, sorry I missed it. Last night would have been a great night to see you. I have to soon. I promise.

Please excuse the yuppie folk, they are funny to watch. So predictable huh. Sometimes I am embarrassed to say I participate in that stuff. LOL.

See ya later!

You read my mind - I just replied to your journal saying we should hang out! I would have loved to watch John dance - the people who dance like no one exists but themselves are the best dancers (well, those, and the belly dancers...). I think I might have plans next weekend, but tenatively speaking, if you're going out the weekend after that I might be game to go out with you guys - and hey, I can drive if you need a sober guy in the group.

And the general public calls us losers, HA! It is amazing to see how those people that are concidered "mainstream" or "normal" act in public, sometimes without the presense of alcohol. More and more I see that people like you and me, and our friends, seem to have a better head on their shoulders and even seem "cooler" then those that are supposed to be "cool". But hey at least you had fun, and you were out in the world. I hung out at Wes' store all weekend, but hey I had fun too so its all good. Take it Sleazy.

Yeah, I know what you're saying. Freak and proud, baby!!

Speaking of infants, that reminds me - I have your Vamp CD - let me know when/where to return it to you (or who to give it to, if I'm not going to see you anytime soon). It was great, thanks!
