I agree with you on 9. I realize you needed to suspend some disbelief in how the little creatures actually achieved life, but for them to feel pain/be winded/etc was a little too anthropomorphic. The writing could have been much better, too.

500 Days of Summer can wait until I have Alzheimer's and don't know I hate Zooey.
