I'm not sure what I think about "torture porn" except I prefer stuff with more of a story or like you said, the fantastic elements rather than straight up sadism. This is the first I've heard of Gonzo Porn though and it sounds more disturbing. What is it exactly?

I think you've got the definition of Gonzo porn sorta wrong:

i saw that wiki post and read it a ton of times before i even made the post. its not a very good entry. it doesnt get to what is actually ON THE videos. and from what i have seen and read about they are some of the most fucked up.

I've seen plenty of Gonzo movies and all they are is people all over a house fucking. No story. Just like a couple fucking in the living room, a couple fucking by the pool all at once. Some are fucked up, I'm sure, but I think that's just like any porn. It's not specific to Gonzo.

okay, so i've never seen saw or hostel or any of those movies because they don't appeal to me, but i never understood calling horror movies torture porn... it's not the torture part that i really have a problem with, i just hate calling anything pornography that isn't actually pornography. like, you call these hollywood movies torture porn and some people get all in a huff, but like, no one cares that you can look anywhere on the internet and see women being raped and tortured for real, or just that it happens every day. it's just like you were saying and it makes me really mad. there are some movies that i just do not want to watch, but i liked what you said about them being art depicting our problems and not the actual problems... so why be so uppity about the movie when the majority of the world doesn't seem to give a shit about what happens in the real world.

umm... my thoughts are really random, too. this probably wasn't helpful at all.. heh xoxo
