You really should consider writing an etiquette blog. People would read the hell out of it.

Thanks. It was a frustrating day, but I am fortunate to have a very understanding ED.

I shall consider collecting things into an etiquette blog. It is true that many people seem to be confused about these matters.

But what would I call it?

I guess you could have arranged the raffle so that everyone won a prize. "The next draw is for... a business card! The ticket is... [rummage rummage] ONE! THREE! THREE! TWO! ... FIVE! ... THREE!!" And so on for the remaining whatever-number. I'm sure that would have worked better.

Ugh, that's horrible! Some people are walking around with such a raging case of entitlement they manage to ruin the day of perfectly innocent people.
