Zing, Dru, and Spike spent the day in Deland with Amy and her awesome crew.  The pups had so many wonderful experiences herding chickens, playing with cats, and meeting strangers.  I'm really happy with Dru and Spike.  (At birth, I was so sure that I was going to keep one of the b/w girls.)

Interesting comment about a preference for loose-eyed dogs...that's the reason that I chose Aussies over BCs as a pet when I got my first dog and still prefer them now that I'm doing agility. Maybe in a few generations you'll have an Aussie-like BC for me ;) I know it's a bit heretical in some circles but I see nothing wrong with breeding dogs for a job, even if that work isn't what the breed was originally used for and some of their characteristics may be lost. The important thing is that the dogs are sold to people who want them for the work they *were* bred to do. Lisa

I really don't think eye helps in the agility ring. I see a lot of sticky contacts and tables with strong eyed dogs. It would make me crazy!

I agree completely about breeding a dog for a job. Everyone who contacted me about a puppy wanted an agility prospect and wasn't really interested in herding. While these puppies probably have enough eye to work sheep, I was just trying to get nice agility pups. :)
