haircut for cancer

I am having a dilemma. I'd like to cut my hair much shorter. Now I have different choices:

*Go to my usual hairdresser, who happens to be my husbands niece. And I'll have not as much cut as I want to, because she doesn't like to cut it short, for my husband could be complaining, or I could regret it.
My hair is always long, and I always ask her to ( Read more... )

I'd go with option two (and have). It's not vain for a chemo patient to want to wear a wig. That lady didn't ask to have cancer, yet she goes through the treatment. She didn't ask to lose all of her hair. Yes, if it were me, I'd proudly wear my bald head. But you never know what others are thinking. And the 50 does go to a good cause.

Well, I made the appointement and it's cut today. It'll be just as long in 2 years, and now that I lost the weight of it, I can relate a bit more.

I've heard of this in the U.S. too and think if you really want to cut it short you may as well do something nice for someone else while you're at it. I know if I had cancer and lost all my hair (which is down to my ass) I'd really love a wig so everyone wouldn't stare at my bald head. They also have an organization here in the US that provides real hair wigs for children with cancer too.

I think it's 12 inches, but I'm not absolutely sure on that.

If you want it short anyway, I'd go for option two as well. That niece of yours would have to be really petty to resent a good cause.

I think that whole hair donation thing is awesome. I've always had long hair but I might do it if I could around here (not sure they'd want my split ends, though...) After all, hair grows back.

Hey, split ends is just double volume ;)
Not to ennoy you, but my radical haircuts started short before I gave birth to my first child. It was so lonbg it ennoyed me to think of how it would be in mpy way when I gave birth. a year after his birth, it was quite long again but I cut it radical short because of the ennoying hair loss. And then the same story with the second child.
It's cut now, all donated away, yay me!
