Baby steps...

Today was a rather different day for Cielo. He'd strayed outside of the apartment he shared with his fellow Embryon and made his way down the six flights of stairs, cat and tribbles in tow. He also decided to try on the clothes that Gale and Custo bought for him; pants, a gray sweater with an orange stripe and a large puffy coat of the same color

*Gale walks up the sidewalk, wearing a wool coat layered over his Embryon-themed sweatshirt. It seems especially cold today. He's carrying a bag of groceries -- mostly fresh produce and leafy greens, from the looks of it. There's also a jar of peanut butter in the mix.*

*Gale pauses on the stairs and looks at Cielo and his furry friends.* If not for the hair, and possibly the inordinate amount of shivering, I would almost consider you a native.

He looked up to Gale, and said something unintelligible through chattering teeth. Naomi mewed happily at Gale, and the Tribbles huddled closer together.

"Why you talkin' 'bout my hair like dat, bro? I saw dis guy wit a lime green mohawk jus' a bit ago! Dat's way crazier den my do, heh."

*Gale shrugs a little, grocery bags hanging from his hands shift a little.* True. We should be grateful that we were not members of the Maribel.

*He would pet Naomi if his hands were free. Despite the resistance he put up, he's glad that Cielo can find enjoyment in his animal comrades.*

Perhaps you should take a walk; it would increase circulation and keep you warm.

He frowned up to Gale. "B-b-but if I started walkin' around an' stuff, I-I-I-I'd g-g-get lost!" And that? Would not be good.

"Hey, yarnhead." Claire came out of the building wearing a bomber jacket, jeans, a red scarf, and matching earmuffs. "What're you doing, people-watching?"

Cielo nodded to Claire. "Ja! I get bored sittin' by de window, 'cuz I can't get a good look at de people walkin' by from so high up! If only it weren't so cold out here..."

[finalgirl]

"It's winter, yarnhead. That kind of thing happens now."

She looked up and down the street. "Why don't you go to a coffee shop or someth--oh, you'd have to leave the cat here. So that's no good."

[ziohazard]

"B-b-but G-Gale said I shoudn't drink de coffee..." He trailed off, catching sight of the coffee shop.

*Roland just happens to be visiting the apartment today, mostly just to see how everyone is doing [and maybe see Argilla]. However, as he approaches the apartment building, he notices Cielo sitting on the front steps.

He's actually slightly surprised to see Cielo out of the apartment, even if it was freezing outside. Walking over to the dread-locked boy, Roland stops the Tribbles in Cielo's hair, and can also hear the meowing of Naomi.*

Cielo...What are you doing out here?

Cielo huddled in the coat and sweater with Naomi, peeking up at Roland over the collar of the said articles of clothing.

"I-I-It's c-c-c-cold, but fun, ja? I get to see all sorts of cool people, even when I'm not in de Nexus!"

Ah. It seems like you're becoming more interested about the city now. Unlike before when you was hesitant to step out of the apartment.

*Roland seems pleased at Cielo's transition, although he is slightly worried at Cielo's reaction to the cold.

However, as he is standing there with Cielo, Roland catches sight of Heat. He glances at the Embyron member calmly, at about the same time that Heat looks at him. Like the last time, Roland says nothing to Heat as him and Gale walk into the apartment. If anything he would get a chance to meet and talk with Heat later on.*

Cielo...Both Claire and Gale have made good suggestions on keeping warm. If you want to, I'll accompany you on a walk so you don't get lost.

Cielo chuckled at Roland's first remark and stood up. "B-b-baby steps, ja? Like dis!" And he demonstrated by taking very tiny steps to the edge of the sidewalk, and then hurried back to his perch on the steps.

"An... ja, bro! Let's go explore d-d-d-de city! You know your way around... right...?"

Cielo's mouth hung open at Heat's arrival.

"H-Heat! What're you doing 'ere? How'd you get 'ere, bro?" He asked, shivering.

"...Daah! Make a fire for us, bro, I'm freezin'!!" And he gave Heat a rather convincing puppy-dog look.

*Gale gestures with a hand laden with grocery bags.* Let us go inside, Heat. You are not dressed for this weather.

*Gale walks up the steps and pushes the door to the lobby open. He looks back at Heat expectantly.*

*Vic makes her own way out onto the steps. She's dressed in her usual business suit and jacket, but lacks her mask. She also has a scarf, wrapped tight against the cold.*

Hm. Bit cold today, isn't it? How are you, Cielo?

"'Ey it's G-G-Gale's girlfriend!" He said with a smile and looked up to Vic.

"An' w-well, ja it's cold! An' besides f-f-freezin' I be okay. An' you? Feelin' better, sista?"

*Vic rolls her eyes a little and almost makes to ruffle his hair, but the tribbles perching there cause her to just pat him on the shoulder.* Yes, it is I, Gale's girlfriend.

It's not that bad, the weather. I feel much better. Was planning to go on a walk, get reacquainted with city. Perhaps get some noodles. Definitely looking into getting hot tea. What are you doing out here, if it is so cold?

"T-tea?" Cielo asked, wrinkling his nose a little. The bitter taste of the tea Gale served around Christmastime was still fresh in Cielo's mind, and he remembered it tasting aboslutely foul. Anything not saturated with sugar isn't edible by Cielo's standards. "Ew! But... I c-c-c-could go for something warm, ja?"

"Oh... and I jus' been watchin' de city. You can't get a good look at anyting from all de way up dere!" He then gestured to the Embryon's window, which was easily recognizable. An orange flag hung from it.
