I was going to experiment with the second batch that went into the oven, but then I figured I shouldn't risk burnt/undercooked cookies just to satisfy my inability to wait a little while. And it's not like I'm DOING anything while they're baking. I'm reading or watching TV or surfing the 'net. So not too horrible a state :D

Well, our oven is this avocado green monstrosity, and my mother's recipe has been tailored to this beast. So the cookies take 14 minutes on one rack, and then 7 more minutes on the other. So. 21 minutes for one batch of cookies = impatient Z.
