We had to spend money to get money. So it wasn't really free. We broke out about even on the betting stakes - and lost alot more on the drinking stakes

We didn't go anywhere near the bookies this year so I wouldn't know.
We did take a picnic lunch organised by yours truly - and it was indeed pure brilliance! Everyone was shocked that I bought Kebana along lol.

Good stuff - I've stopped going to our races because the weather is always shit and my suit gets wrecked. It's always a good excuse for pointless drinking though!

Hehe! The weather for the Melbourne Cup is either really hot - or cold and rainy!
Today it was the latter... but not rainy.. just bloody cold!
Gotta love Melbourne's weather. Lovely one day - absolutely shithouse the next... you'll love it!
