I love the new album so much. His cover of Fast Car is brilliant. Right now, though, I'm stuck on Something's Gotta Give. I don't know why. It's been going through my head all day. There isn't a single song on the album that isn't amazing. Thinking of You continues to be a favorite, as well as Seven Days, Making Circles, and Let Me Go. I'm still a bit unsettled that the CD version of Making Circles has "mess it up" instead of "fuck it up," though. The dl version is the normal version, though. Still, So. Much. Love. for this album.

Something's gotta give is brilliant! They should play it at gigs, I bet it'd sound amazing live. Maybe it resonates because it's about his dad and is very personal to him? I know that's why I can't get Thinking of You out of my head.

I wondered why all the songs sound somehow better to me than before, and I think it's because I'm so damn happy for Chris that this album is finally released after several false starts.
He's careful with his words about Sony but he must have been so frustrated and angry with them. And after all that he's released an album that's imo much better than the Sony Sessions (though I do miss some of the songs).

Don't get me started on the 'altered' songs, I'm from a country where it isn't an issue and I'm baffled by it. I realize that if you want airplay on US radio you can't sing words like ass, but the songs sound wrong without it.

That could has a lot to do with it. *nods* Also, I think it's really a relatable song, and his vocals in the song are amazing.

What amazes me is that the news can show horrible violence, but we can't hear a "bad" word on the radio. O_o

I love the album! I could have done with a few more completely new songs, but the new versions of the old ones are awesome and in my opinion better than before. Seven Days took me two rounds of listening to get used to it, and now I'm grinning like crazy when I hear it. And Fast Car... WOW. Just wow.

And love the album all the more for how giddy and bouncy it makes Christian and the others. :-)
