Magic fingers

I'm seriously considering getting magnets glued to my fingernails. How cool would it be to be able to feel current and fields? Anyone in Seattle want to join me?

And anyone elsewhere considering it? I'm looking at you sanguinity and randomdreams.

I've had a couple years of acrylic nails, which leaves me kinda eh about having another nail job done for the sake of magnets.

Although I do know who I'd go to, and she'd have hella fun doing it for me. And it would be more fun to play with if someone else had it, too.

How's that for a non-answer? Have you had any bites yet off-LJ?

I have two takers.

At this point, to save the expense and nastyness of the acrylic nails, I'm considering just supergluing the magnets onto my nails instead. Thoughts?

Won't last long, and you won't be able to reglue the magnets, I don't think. With an acrylic job, at least, you could. (Provided you don't mind having some strong acetone around to recover the magnets with.) Dunno how you'd recover them with gel; I don't know enough about what gel is.

Also, there's the question of whether you want to be obvious or circumspect. Me, I'd need to do circumspect, what with work.

It does seem cool! I'm just freaked out about having magnets so close to my body all the time. That's got to do something to your intrinsic energy field. I think my acupuncturist would absolutely forbid it.

*shrug*

One of the source articles used his to determine that a "magnetic health bracelet" didn't actually have any magnets in it at all. I guess I'm not too concerned about that

I am *thrilled* at the idea that I may retain some sensitivity to EMF after the magnets are gone. I think people can learn that other ways; this seems like a great method.

That's really cool about the 'magnetic health bracelets' thing. I'm so tempted, though I'd be more likely to go the superglue route. Such a cool idea.

I'm holding out for being able to SEE them, but it's certainly a cool idea.

I will think about DIY with some of my ceramic ones.

I wouldn't want magnets attached to me, I gather enough metal shavings on my person at work without magnetic assistance.

I find this very fascinating. Have been turning it over in my mind since you brought it up.

Should I include you in the magnet order?
