another near-death driving experience

I am a little shaken still and feel lucky to be alive. We got kokopoko's storm. The rain turned to snow overnight so I had a lot of work to clean off my car this AM. As often happens, the wipers were encrusted with ice and weren't cleaning well even after I tried to clean the ice off. I thought, as the car warms up the remaining ice will melt ( Read more... )

I've had that happen before and damn near thought I was going to die every other second. It is the most terrifying drive I've ever had.

There are still 50,000 homes without power here! Over 10 counties have no electricity or running water. This was one hell of a storm.

Reading your post just makes me realize what a piece of cake driving is in FL. (unless you are one of the idiots who, for thrill-seeking, goes out in their vehicle during a hurricane!) For a while I lived in Colorado though and I know what that feels like to be thinking "I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die!" *smile*
