Already almost done with this rash of auditions. Turns out this one I thought would be a shoe-in but it may not be. It's not that the conductor doesn't want me, he does, but he doesn't have the men, especially tenors, to balance the women. I tell you, being a soprano you learn very quickly that life isn't always fair! We fight tooth and nail

I hope that something good comes out of all the auditions. Sounds like you are really going for it...very cool!!!

Re: too many sopranos, not enough men. It's the same way in the dance world. Generally speaking, it's so much easier for men to get into companies than it is for women. My technical ability would take me so much further if I were a man. Still not into big companies, but a lot further with small ones.
