 A patron who initially displayed sarcastic and entitled behavior just left.   "Well, where's the scanner, then?" isn't usually a sentence spoken with  sarcasm, unless you interrupt the person telling you about it because you're feeling a bit impatient.  Occasionally people come in and have, for lack of a better term, a bit of an "attitude" with

Aw, thanks, though I'm not sure I'm such good role model - I can usually maintain a sense of outward decorum but odd coping mechanisms creep in. I'll probably hear the song playing in my head the next time somebody comes in and behaves badly. I could probably make one of my colleagues laugh by responding, "You gots to chill". Most of the students probably wouldn't know EPMD though.
