I have exceptionally mixed feelings about bin Laden's death- on the one hand, no death should be celebrated. a human life is a human life. on the other hand, cathartic release has its place, and when someone is responsible for such hate and such violence, it seems appropriate to be grateful that they are unable to do more harm...

I agree with you so much. On one hand, I'm so glad he's been found and done away with, but I fear the retaliation that's sure to come. I'm following your lead and lighting a candle for peace. Lovely and appropriate prayers for peace. :D

That's a great solution to my own mixed feelings. When I heard about this my initial reaction was somewhere between "not really celebration but also I can't really say it's a shame"? I'll definitely join you tonight in lighting a candle for peace :)
