Maui Wow - Part 4: Under the Sea

The trip to Hana was a fantastic adventure, and an amazing window to the wonders of Maui - many of which still await my return. But at 14 hours, it was by far the most epic thing we did in Hawaii. When you do Haleakala, plan the day for it, and go with one of those "bike the volcano" companies. They take you up there before sunrise (dress in layers, it's cold at the top!), you watch the sunrise (like liquid gold pouring over the horizon!), and then you bike down, and through some of the Maui "high country".

Also, on a lucky day, you can see turtles right there at Black Rock. Usually early before most tourists are in the water.

So you have even MORE reasons to go back! :)

Hahaha, no I am not the type who's going to ride down the Halekala road on a bicycle! (But I will get up there someday!)

That first photo is STUNNING! This really makes me want to go back to Maui someday. Glad you had such a fantastic trip overall!

Thanks. I'm loving your France photos, btw. Between Maui and France, it's a wonder I will ever get to any place new, because I must go back to BOTH. (And Northern France will be new to me, so that counts even if I visit Paris again while I'm at it!)
