Maybe next year I should spend actual Christmas in San Francisco. It’s the Christmassiest place on the West Coast, I’ll wager.

I’ve trekked up there with Beaumark three times during Christmas Season, and it’s a wonderful tradition that I’d like to keep up, It really gets me in the Christmas mood, and this time was no exception.

It's interesting, because living up here it never feels particularly Christmasy to me around here.

Oh, and a minor correction. The earthquake that damaged the Bay Bridge was in 1989, 25 years ago. It took them the first 15 years to just agree on a design. Then a couple years to re-agree on a design. Then the rest of the time to build half of the bridge.

It only took three years to build the entire thing the first time around and that required tunneling through an island.

Wow, 25 years! Thanks for the correction, but that's actually depressingly lame.

As for not experiencing the Christmassiness of San Francisco, that's a shame - except I suppose it's many of the more touristy areas that are decked out for XMas. That said, the Caroling in the Fillmore district was 98% locals, and the giant festival of SantaCon is primarily a local thing as well.
