The temperature is 103. I am so sick of living in the desert. I wanna go back to the beach where I belong. I would prefer to be in Half Moon Bay, CA, a little community right on the ocean and in Northern California where I would also prefer to be (as opposed to Southern California, where I am right now ( Read more... )

"Cranky"? "Grumpy"? Bah! When I'm in excessively hot weather, I am better defined with words not suitable for polite conversation. Oh, it's foul. Don't ask me how I managed for 12 years in the Keys. I imagine that to the people around me, it seemed like a lot longer especially during the hottest months (March - December).

Vicki, is there a chance you can move back to Half Moon Bay, or at least get out of the desert, any time in the foreseeable future? Where you are now sure sounds rough.

As soon as my husband retires (which could happen by the end of the year) we are outta here. I actually love the desert during every season except summer. But the beach is my *home*. Keep your fingers crossed!
