25 things about me

There's a silly "25 Things About Me" meme running around Facebook. I'm posting my answers here, they'll get sucked onto Facebook automagically. I could try to make some of you do it, but I won't.

Hmm, for some reason I don't remember seeing this one the last time I looked. Or maybe I saw 2017 and thought "that's a decade away!" :)

I will certainly find some place less cloudy along that path of totality!

After reading Anathem, I don't mind long term planning quite so much

#2 -- this is why I don't play Bridge or puzzles much. Most of my friends (including you!) are better than me. Surely some of it is practice, though.

#22 -- I have done exactly one backpacking trip in my life and it was a hoot. Michelle isn't interested, so she figures that she can do something else while I go do that kind of thing... in a few years when the kids are potty trained or something. :-/

Re: #22. I didn't necessarily mean hiking and camping together. :) I miss both, really, but not necessarily together. Backpacking is a slightly different level of commitment. I would totally entertain the notion, though, especially it was just a short 2-3 day backpacking trip.

Man, everyone I know has a tabletop game, and I can't find one. I think I have a line on a shadowrun game. :D

A friend from Austin said he had decent success with the Austin D&D meetup group. You may try the Seattle equivalent: http://dnd.meetup.com/192/ . Matching players to games seems to be one of their goals. (I don't know anyone with personal experience with the Seattle meetup group, though.)

I'm in that... appears to be kinda infrequent. :/ I'll see how the shadowrun game goes.

Fourth ed Shadowrun? I'm curious how that'll go. I played some 3rd ed back in Austin. Shadowrun is an interesting setting, I found it pretty fun.
