Thousand Suns is at the top of my shopping list. I mean: It is, as I insinuated way back at the beginning of this review, an rpg which harks back to a lost style of game design, where the rules are intended as a means to enable the desires and designs of the gamemaster and the players, not to dictate them.
If Traveller has a chance to grow up using newer and more simple game techniques, this would be the result - and that is HIGH praise indeed!
Not that I've purchased a game in a long, long time. Actually, I picked up Chrononauts at the beginning of January, so that statement isn't entirely true. Let me amend: I haven't purchased a RPG product since... Spirit of the Century? Some True20 supplement?
EDIT: I predicted that I would buy a game and, as of 10/21/2008, I still have not done so. This seems strangely
familiar...
