I've been up to things, Gentle Reader. Let me show you them!
I joined
this group. I sat in on a
Burning Empires game last week, and tonight I think we'll be playing the
Red Box Hack. Or maybe I'll get drafted into running
Faery's Tale. The scheduled game was
Primetime Adventures, but we decided to go with something where it'd be more likely that everybody would be involved in every scene. The reason, you ask? We'll have a visiting 10-year-old whose never done the RPG thing before, and we want to keep her involvement high!
So John Wick has been putting
a game design seminar up on
YouTube. His latest video is about
Jared A. Sorensen's three questions: What is your game about? How is your game about that? How does your game reward or encourage that behavior? Mr. Wick adds a fourth, crucial question: How do you make that fun? Whaddya know, I've been kinda thinking about
that kind of stuff for a while! Go me! Expect two posts on these questions and Pirates (and your responses) in the near future.
I've been
modding the heck out of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. Only with other people's creations, so far. I've been working for two weeks on a post all about modding, but I decided to do this catcher-upper first.
In other video game news, there are some
intriguing facts and figures regarding violent video games. Insert emoticon here, ya'll.
And finally, by going to Flickr, one can see
a bit of what I've been doing instead of business stuff or game design. Flickr has also enabled me to
make my Overclocking Database entry rather pretty.
