This is not the first time I have been compelled to follow the instruction of a temple, however... [he touches his hand to the bridge of his nose, as though nursing a headache] I know only the ways of the Karma Temple, and after what I have seen lately, I am wary at best about this new form of worship. Toward what is it leading ( Read more... )

Apparently we are "saving the cosmos" by engaging in worship, but what exactly is threatening it is beyond me.

I suppose it is difficult to feel compelled to save something that does not appear to be threatened by any imminent danger.

It's also very troubling to note that some people come from worlds where there actually is legitimate danger looming on the horizon, and yet the Twelve would still take these people who have the potential to save their home worlds away. Apparently time does not pass while we are in Zodion, but really, there's no way to tell if there are exceptions to the rule unless we are all freed.

I believe, if there is such impending danger where one is from, it would be best not to wait for freedom to be granted but to seek a way to gain it on one's own. It is my plan to do so, in the event that time does continue on without me there. Though it does give me a limited amount of time within which to work, presuming time in both worlds moves at the same pace.

There are many who share this sentiment, and we truly did seek methods of escape when the first of us arrived here, but there doesn't appear to be any way for us to do so as of now. Some people are able to leave, but there is just as much mystery surrounding their selection as everything else related to the Twelve.

Some people leave? Since you say it is somewhat of a mystery, do they seem to have left of their own volition or would it be more accurate to say that they disappeared? Has anyone observed this take place?

I feel as though 'disappear' is not the proper word for it since reportedly, when people leave this place, it is most likely to return home, though they may also come back as well, with or without any recollection of this place. Many friends of mine have left, but I have never actually seen them physically leave, nor did anyone I speak with remember consciously deciding to go.

So it is, as you said, related to the Twelve more likely than not. But who would go to such trouble to bring people here and deny them escape, merely to send some back on a whim? It does not make sense. Unless, perhaps, the Twelve are not a fully unified force, and some may even undo another one's work. If that is the case... [He trails off, lost in thought for a moment]

What is known about the Twelve, if anything?

That does make a bit of sense. The Twelve of them have yet to make an appearance together, and all that is known about them is that they require our assistance. There was a war of sorts not long ago, and from my understanding the Twelve were subdued by an unknown force, meaning they are not invincible. Outside of that, however, I am afraid information is extremely limited. All we have to go by is pure speculation.
