ヽ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ ~♪ My, it seems that love is in the air all of a sudden, doesn't it?

Or perhaps love isn't quite the right word--! ☆゚・*:.。.☆^(*^・゚)ノ

how does one tell if they are in love?
is there a way to know with certainty?
i have heard it is one of those things you just "know".

That's quite a question!

I believe that's true, although it's probably not really as impossible to quantify as some say. Let's see..! I'd say it's when you find yourself wanting to be with someone for the rest of your life, valuing their desires and needs above your own!

[he is just quoting a shoujo anime here. shit means nothing to him.]

Of course, if you're in a place like this, you should probably also take what's going on around you into account. If everyone you see also appears to be suddenly wondering if they're in love, then there's a good chance it's simply the gods having a little fun!

Does your asking mean you think you are, then~? ☆

is that so?
how curious.
and this emotion is limited to one person above all else, correct?
because i am certain i love my pokemon and would do absolutely anything for them, and just between you and me, i have a fondness and connection to one in particular.
i like to think i am not in love with my pokemon but i understand that the different degrees of love denote different relationships, though what those relationships entail in relation to the intensity of those feelings is not something i am well-accustomed to.
i have much to learn about humans and their way of doing things.

[is he in love with reshiram? probably not. he hopes not. maybe he is and he doens't realize it. maybe they've been dating this whole time and he wasn't even aware. he just wants to be a little less weird okay?????]

Well, limiting it to one is the socially acceptable way, yes.

[what the fuck is a pokemon, because that's definitely not what the battling animals he trains on his ds back home are called but whatever]

When it comes to romantic love in particular, there's generally an element of ~physical attraction~ as well -- perhaps that can help you decide!

Human ways are indeed quite interesting. ♥

that is interesting since a lot of animals

[N forgets people don't know what pokémon are here...oops...man, he needs to be obsessed with something everyone can at least somewhat understand.]

are not monogamous. i suppose it would be inefficient for humans to have more than one mate and to deal with having such intense feelings for multiple partners as well.
i don't know if i could say i am in love.
i have a lot of thinking i need to do on the matter.
but i do appreciate your input and wise words. thank you.
humans are very fascinating. i found them daunting and bothersome at first but i find myself warming up to them.
it's all thanks to the power of friendship.

You're very welcome! ☆

[even though you should actually be thanking mai from episode 21 of chouhime.]

And yes, such relationships do seem to hold great significance! Though if you don't mind my asking, are you not a human yourself?

yes, i am indeed human.
however, i am what many would consider sheltered, so i am trying to learn all i can about the ways of the world.
