[The feed flickers, shaking as the soft color of skin (a hand) brushes across the screen. It lingers only a moment before it's removed, and then the picture of the Meridian Temple shakes, visible through long locks of brown hair, partially obscuring it from view

A breath expels, soft and clearly feminine, mumbling beneath her breath. It's to no one ( Read more... )

[No This isn't-

There have been too many surprises over the past day, much to his distaste. Yet, is it really that much of one, to see her here, when it seems so many others have been stolen away from their homes as well? Somehow, this one is even more of a challenge for him to believe. He doesn't want to.

He's barely able to process the last of her words, only able to find himself in agreement, before he speaks for himself. At least a fraction of that same surprise, very possibly unfiltered and unknowing, still evident upon his face.]

You...

Ze-- [She stops, words cut short as eyes widen in astonishment, unbelieving for a moment.

Maybe because both were so near to each other before arriving here, this shouldn't be surprising but the face looking at her through the feed of the camera takes her aback.]

Why... [How, really...?] Ah-

[It really is her. (Why are you always right there?) Not even always; that year had passed, where she wasn't. And he'd gotten used to it. (You shouldn't be here. You can't.) Although, he knows full well that he can't be in this strange world, either. That he shouldn't be, because now what will happen at home?

There's too many questions to ask, some hardly even relating to the situation, but he isn't sure how to word them. He isn't even sure how he's supposed to feel about this- not while he still is attempting to process the new-found circumstances for himself, alone.]

... I don't know. [shakes his head a little] But probably, it was just like you. Like how everyone else I've heard was, but there haven't been many solid answers.

. . . I see. [Soft after a pause, she goes quiet. The truth, though, is that she doesn't see. Why is she really here? What is going on? And why have both of them been dragged here together?

Her first thoughts are the Hunter's Association. She doesn't know anyone else with the tools and abilities to suppress even a pureblood vampire. Yet she knows her adoptive father, even after everything, wouldn't just allow such a thing. And that further begs the question: Why is Zero here...?

From what she can tell he's in good health. At least he doesn't seem to be any different from how she last remembers seeing him.]

Is Takamiya-san here as well? [Glancing up her eyes lock on that violet shade of purple still so familiar, despite the hardness within them. Before suddenly finding herself displaced, the last two individuals she remembers seeing were the two of them. If both she and Zero are here, then it makes sense that perhaps the other hunter might be here too.]

[If he knows her as well as he believes he does, that response of hers leaves him doubtful. It's set aside for the moment, however, a bit of that surprise surfacing again. He blinks. She's asking about Kaito...?

Yet, maybe he can understand. At the very least, Kaito's presence would be one minute detail that would make sense, here, simply due to how three of them were within proximity of each other just prior to appearing in this world.

He can't place any bets on it, however.]

No. I haven't heard or seen from him... or anyone else from home. It does seem that a lot of others are in this same situation, however. [a pause, because it does feel rather awkward and strange to even imagine.] From different worlds and places, too, apparently.

How could someone even have the ability...

[It's near incomprehensible. How is something like this even possible? This is too elaborate for some form of illusion, and if it was she'd feel it. The fact that she can't begs her next question, and one she feels a level of discomfort on.]

Zero, can you--

[She stops, uncertain how to best approach. For between the two of them it isn't an easy topic to approach.] Do you...feel the same?

[He stops as well, that question... At first he could have mentioned that he wondered about such an ability, as well. That, in spite of what power and influence both the Association and Council held, this is far beyond what their capabilities can manifest.

That question, however, is one that catches him and hardens the gaze he has upon her. Even if she does have a point. How he personally feels about her asking doesn't bear any relevance; not presently, at the very least. It's the fact that she brings it up at all, which he can only suspect is because he is not the only one.]

No.

[Even amidst all the other things that he still can't wrap his head around, there's only one he desperately wants to accept, yet is suspicious of, in spite of himself.

His focus shifts from her, jaw briefly tight with the tip of his head, hair obscuring his view of her.]

...I don't. Not especially.

[She falls silent, lips pursing. That's a good thing, isn't it...? The moment of her arrival a painful ache in her throat had ceased, along with the tingling of her gums.

The desperate, merciless thirst that until recently has been clawing her throat has vanished. The thought of blood, while still appealing, no longer clouds her mind. Instead the desire for such is no stronger than that of anything else.

Still, just a quick sweep of her tongue is enough for her to realize her fangs are still there. Physically in appearance she's no different than before her kidnapping. In reality she feels greatly changed. That difference, if it's the same in Zero, it can't...be one he mourns in the least.

How bitterly sweet. She draws a breath, glancing away from the screen.]

-- Regardless, I plan on finding a way back to the academy.

[Almost unconsciously, his hand lifts to his throat for a brief moment.

A touch quieter, yet embittered all the same. What is anyone even supposed to think of this kind of situation? ]

Finding the way home again is probably what most everyone here intends to do. [He pauses. Irritation colors his tone, the way he looks upon her again, even though she isn't the very source of that frustration.]

Yet where to begin, when we have no real idea of exactly how we suddenly found ourselves here. The fact that it very well could be a different planet than our own...

[Trying to keep calm amidst the uncertainty isn't easy. A new planet? It's ridiculous enough to make her want to laugh except for the possibility that it's actually true. Anger and frustration run thick through her viens but only as a forefront to the anxiousness and confusion within.

There's already too much to deal with. Overwhelmed for a moment she closes her eyes, fingers threading through her hair to either side of her temples]

I don't know, Zero.

[She'll figure something out. It was near that strange pillar where she appeared. Maybe that's the answer to their escape.]

I'm not going sit still though. I'm going to find Ikhthyes.

"Ikhthyes"?

I don't know.

[It's just a feeling? An inspiration?]

I think that's the one who brought me here and marked me.

[He acknowledges her response, but then goes quiet, considering her reply. The memory of that temple, that ring of water, is still all too clear in his memory. It's only been about a day for him - at least as far as he can tell, given the lack of the sun - but even so, it isn't an experience he could so easily forget.

At the same time, however, perhaps it's a small consolation to know she's right about that- Knowing one of their names was written in that greeting message.]

I heard something else, but you're probably right. That is one of their names.

It has to do with the Zodiac.

[Now that she's discussed it she's confident, at least, that the tattoos represent the zodiac sign associated with their date of birth.]

Yours matches the sign for Capricorn, doesn't it?

[He blinks, marginally surprised. She caught on quicker than maybe he would have thought. ... or something like that.]

Yeah. [Pauses, he never had paid much attention to the zodiac, quite frankly. It never meant anything other than a symbol and a name that supposedly matched up with when he was born.]

Aegókerōs.

[She silently whispers the name back, testing it on her tongue. The names themselves aren't ones that she is familiar with. The zodiac itself she is, but only a little more so.]

I don't suppose you ever looked into information on your own zodiac. [It's more of a statement than a question. If she remembers Zero at all, she knows that isn't really his style.]

I used to look up Capricorn fairly often. Though usually it was only for the horoscope. [Because she never knew her own, looking into Zero's back then was the next best thing.]
