[ when the VIDEO feed starts, an extremely fair woman is shown, lips curled into an attractive smile for a moment, almost as if she were modeling for something-- but within an instant, the expression is turned into that of irritation, her free hand visible at the corner of the display, showing long, kept-nails but most importantly-- there's a chip

[ okay, so she hasn't quite figured out everything about this expensive-looking device yet, but now that she knows it's there it's just as good as she'd known all along. no need to mention it. ]
I've ascertained such, but walking? This... [ she fumbles with the device for a moment, finally finding the map and staring hard at it, making definite her feelings on it. ] -- it looks impossible. Tell me, how far have you walked in heels? How offensive.

Unfortunately, there is little else you can do. There aren't any cars or other modes of transportation in Zodion yet.

Hm...is that so?
[ he doesn't seem disrespectful, at the very least. still, it's hard to believe this place has no mode of transportation at all. how is that even possible?
for a moment, Junko is tempted to ask if N knows of any strong, fairly-attractive men who might be able to carry her. or maybe a small fleet of less buff, more handsome men to do so-- but that much would be demeaning, were it not already provided, so she refrains.
...still, that leaves her with a predicament. ]
If they'd told me I was coming I would have at least packed some necessities-- though I'd rather have not come at all! How indecent...are there any other lack-ofs I should be aware of?

I see you are used to the finer things in life, which I can relate to, so if you don't mind me saying, the initial decor of our apartments are rather sparse. I wouldn't call it ugly, but if the shoe fits...
[N doesn't bitch about things often so lord knows he takes the chance whenever it arises.]
The Twelve also entrust to you a bank card with money in it, and I suppose it is sufficient enough to live somewhat comfortably but personally I'm used to more.
Other than the lack of money and as a result creature comforts and the lack of class our captors have, this place isn't completely terrible. Though, while we are on the subject, I must note that most forms of technology I am sure you would consider commonplace are not present, such as televisions and radios.
But really, this place does have its own charms.

yeah, she's just realized that every one of her belongings as well as her fortune is kind of...still...back there. how disgusting. how is she supposed to live here with only a supposed allowance? she isn't some scraggler living on the higher-ups, she's...
no TV? no radio? so, what, was this-- albeit expensive-looking-- device the only manner of... ]
Such charms don't seem to make up for what is lacking, in my mind. I suppose as long as the rooms are sparse rather than atrocious in their own right something can be done aesthetically, but really-- no television or radio? No transport?
[ sighing, she brings long nails up to the bridge of her nose, tapping it in displeasure. ]
How arcane.

he feels junko. he really, really does. N was looking forward to watching tv too.]
It is rather primitive if I do say so myself... So long as we continue to worship, however, our quality of life should improve, so there is always that to look forward to as time goes on.

-- Ah. So the "hook" is shown, so-to-speak. I can see why those present here seem, more or less, complacent with the idea... this offers what appears to be a reward for obeying their commands, doesn't it?
[ a short, amused laugh. ]
It's almost endearing.

Many of us have been here for awhile, so it wouldn't surprise if you found that most people here seemed okay with acquiescing to such vulgar demands. Unfortunately, with no way to leave and little else but the network to occupy our time, there really isn't much else we can do in the form of resisting.
[a sigh.]
I'm not fond of it, personally, but the Twelve do not show themselves often you see...
[meaning complaining is out of the question.]

I see. People reduced to their most primitive state.
[ sigh... she doesn't sound very pleased with that, but to be honest? there are much worse things to be (supposedly) forced to commit yourselves to. they could very easily be put into literal slavery, should these disgusting beings have wished it if they'd had the power to bring them here in the first place.
...now, that doesn't mean she likes the prospect. no, she hates it. it's demeaning, below her. but... ]
They don't? They'll have to make an exception, then, or at least expect to be questioned the moment they do.

You are most certainly welcome, Miss. I hope your adjustment to Zodion is as trouble-free as possible. I am N. Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to ask.

[ ...the best, that is. come on, there's only so many lines she can use don't judge. while her nicety could certainly be contested, there's no doubt that this conversation has put N in her good graces. ]
Why, pleased to meet you..."N". My name is Junko Kurosu. I'm sure we'll speak again.
