mistletoe smoochin' open log. go wild. let us know if anything gets too adult. or take your dirty diddlin' to a locked post. otherwise, this will remain public.
[Her stomach is still sunk, uncomfortable and nauseous after it all. What happened with Yozora still weights heavy on her mind, replaying over and over again while she frets and continues to worry that maybe the reaction is simply delayed, in Zodion.
What if she yet can still transform into another creature of the night?
Head down, she swallows as she walks back toward her apartment complex, intent on nestling inside and not coming out again for the rest of the day.]
[The silence is marred only by their footsteps. He, too, still is processing what Yuuki told him. Naturally agitated with the fact that it had happened at all (however not at Yuuki, herself), but additionally unsure as to what possibly could take place.
Although, he truly doubts that anything will become of it. Even in their own world, as far as Zero is aware of, a tiny scratch by a pureblood's fang is too little to actually turn someone. ...He hopes so, at the very least. He gives Yuuki's hand a gentle squeeze.
His train of thought comes to a halt when his gait does similarly, physically stopped in his tracks. A glance up and to the right confirms the easy suspicion, and he lets out a breath. Softly.]
[She doesn't have to look up to know what happened. Her feet, similar to his own, come to a sudden halt. It draws a shaky sigh from her throat, reluctant, for once. It has nothing to do with the person, this time. In fact she enjoys the time they spend curled together, doing the very thing the mistletoe encourages. But it's never forced with him-- and never after something so worrisome that she can't pull her mind from it.
Her tongue flicks out to wet her lips and she turns to slowly glance up into his violet eyes, her brows knit. His expression is sympathetic, the squeeze of her hand a comfort yet she can't understand it.]
[He remains quiet for the first few moments. A steadied gaze; calm to a fault, yes, but contemplative. Neutral while considering the way she watches him. It's a look subtly hardens when he speaks.]
I never said I wasn't concerned.
[In truth, he doesn't want to think about it at all, knowing he'll only become more irritated. His hand flinches within hers, jaw briefly tight.]
Only that it would take more than a faint scrape to turn an individual.
-tch. She was stupid to think that shoving her tongue down your throat was necessary to get past this thing, to begin with.
[Her fingers tighten around his. Of anyone, this sort of thing is the most delicate around Zero. It's the reason he hates purebloods, isn't it?]
She didn't know.
[Her expression twists, jaw tightening in frustration.]
Not that it's an excuse.
[She had told her no repeatedly. Even if kissing is the only way out, it shouldn't be so forceful. It had taken Yuuki by surprise. Gently her fingers stroke his, as much a comfort to him as for herself. The entire thing has her shaken up.]
[His eyes widen some in reaction to her question. Even in spite of how foul and bitter he feels in regards to purebloods, the very notion of their existence boiling his blood - even though he can admit to feeling those very sentiments towards Yuuki, upon her initial awakening - he can't not acknowledge what he knows, deep down, as the solid truth.]
I never...
[...never wanted to have to even think of that happening. Jaw still tense, free hand clenching. The fact that she asks, at all, is painful, no matter how much he can can see why she asked in the first place. The last thing Zero is, is oblivious to his own actions and behavior. Even so, "How could you even ask me that," sits at the tip of his tongue. After so much time together, here, now...
A slight crease formed at his brow, head giving a light shake. His hand wrapped with hers held tighter without much of a second thought.]
[Her eyes closed, small fingers tightening within the warm grasp. Of course, with her he wouldn't. An exception, always, among those with similar traits to herself.]
It's all relative. He knows that he can say that; that it's how he's begun to feel, at least at home. However, for her to ask...
His head tips forward, that look upon his face remaining, however the tension is leaking back in. A tight smile threatens to crack across his face.]
Do you think you could learn to not enjoy parfaits, Yuuki?
[It's a bitterly sarcastic remark. Hardly relevant, no, but to a degree, it's just the same as the type of question she poses to him.
His free hand lifts to cover his face no sooner than the last word falls from his lips. A brief, however prolonged few seconds. He doesn't want to think about it, obviously so within his tone. Irritated, though still hurt, even though he's aware that his response may very well have hurt Yuuki, too.]
[Although it's not fully unexpected, somehow, it manages to still hurt. It stirs within her various feelings on the subject, changing and fighting for dominance. After a moment her fingers slip from his grasp, hand falling to hang limp at the side.
Gaze down, she stares up ahead of her at a spot on the floor. The thin line of her brow scrunches together after a long moment and she speaks, quiet.]
It's not...as though I don't understand.
[His whole life, his family - everything was changed because of the actions of vampires. Vampires, in particular, like her.]
You love me... and because of that you look past certain things, because it's me.
[Fact, quiet and softly spoken. It's nothing he can deny, only simple truth.]
But you hate...the sort of creature I am. How does - how can someone completely love a person, if they despise what they are? If we had never met, I'd be... nothing more than a name that, the greater majority of the association, would be happy to be without. [A soft, humorless laugh] That they even now would be happy
( ... )
[The entirety of her response is overwhelming. The audacity with the affection with the heavy pull it all seems to execute; his heart squeezed in a vicious iron grip, even as the ever-flourishing love continues to flood his veins.
It's not that easy.
It shouldn't be possible for any single person to simultaneously experience such a wide spectrum of conflicting emotions.
Zero can hardly find his voice in that moment, let alone any words. His chest aches in both desperate love and undeniable truths. An agonizing yet blissful intoxication.
And on top of it all, all at once, even just the way she professes her love for him, alone, is almost too much for him to handle. His hand briefly tenses in the initial seconds after Yuuki places it over her heart, the knot in his gut pressing forth to the back of his throat...
("Did you ever get your answer?"...and brows crease further, pain etching its way to the surface in an unadulterated display, even as the gentle touch of her lips brush his skin
( ... )
[It's too difficult to keep a veil over her emotions. Impossible to hide her reactions to his words, even the scent (salty liquid that gathers to cling to long lashes) betrays her.
She can't fake a smile to lie and tell him 'It's fine.' Not when she doesn't feel that way. All the same the painful sense of understanding remains, undeniable as it is. Too much has happened. Deep, festering wounds often leave scars that never fade away completely.
Her stomach clenches, jaw tightening as she swallows thickly. The sharp tip of her fangs brush the inside of her lower lip, aware of them in the moment. Each beat of her heart breaks further, heavy and full of pain.
Slow, careful fingers brush his cheek, another tender caress. Then, warm arms envelope him to wrap him within her embrace, simply holding him against her chest.]
Shhh...
[Cradling, gentle hands stroke his hair, patting his head comfortingly as she shushes him soothingly. So much like all those years ago, except this time she's part of the cause of his turmoil, confusion, and

[Even if she had tried, he still can smell her silent tears. Her heartbreak tangible and infectious. He can feel the way her smile delicately balances between anguish and tender consolation; how one heart can work to ease itself, even in the midst of aching. He could never expect her to lie, not about anything.
Yet, the pain reverberates within him, amplified in knowing how much of it is his fault. Guilt underlies the aching pull of his heart even as he drinks in Yuuki's gentle touch.
Similar to the way faint tears unknowingly dot along his lashes, the small sprig of mistletoe above them harbors none of their attention, and plays little at all into their behavior.
A tilt of his head, Zero's heart still squeezed tight, breath coming shallow and hardly thought of. His brow creased, one hand drawing forth from behind Yuuki's head to softly cup a cheek, a thumb quietly sweeping away any tears that might fall.
(How do I deserve you, at all?)
His lips draw in to hers. Almost a tentative kiss, at first, however only in appearance. ]
