Okay! The first thing you need to learn is how to tread water. It's a little tricky at first if you're not used to it, but it's usually instinctual. Um, basically you just have to move your arms and legs so that you stay afloat.

[he's more than used to human touch at this point, so he happily clutches her hand and toddles after her towards the water. he's never actually even waded like this before, not really being permitted any sort of leisurely time throughout his journey through unova, so even if the water isn't terribly deep so far he's obviously quite mystified.]

So my only task is to remain afloat? Alright. That sounds simple enough.

It's pretty easy, but you might have to take some time to get used to it before you can go out into deeper water. [ she then stops treading and grins. ] Now you try!

N, just like his player, cannot swim.]
