Dear friends,
My mother's spirit went with the angels into God's loving embrace, this morning at about 5:15 (eastern time). I got here around midnight and spent some time talking to her, although she was not conscious. I joined two of my brothers (John and Fred); our brother Don is on his way.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. It breaks my heart that any of us have to live without our mothers here.

Thinking of your and your dad and brothers and family at home.

I just said to my brothers, as we sat around dad (whom we had just told), "Oh my. I'm the only female in the immediate family now, after being Mom's little ally for all those years" (only girl and youngest child).

Yes, I know what you mean, I think. I have felt that odd mix of relief at the end of a loved one's suffering and deep grief at the loss of someone so important to me. You'll be in my thoughts.

I'm sorry. Ove's (my husband)mother died also in that age some years ago.
