It's pretty scary and extremely sad. I have, in the past, really wanted to travel to the U.K. and Iceland, but given my concern over flying due to tragedies like this, as well as the massive carbon emissions, I think I'll stay right around here. Glad you're okay.

Thanks, L. I think you'd be ok flying to the UK or Iceland, but being a participant in the polluting experience of flying is a legitimate concern. It's so much worse here in Nigeria. Just as there are countless vehicles on the roads which really shouldn't be, the condition of planes and their overuse is a major hazard which has lead to hundreds of avoidable tragedies over the past year. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that it's truly criminal.
