So! regarding my previous post on fanfic, shame and identity and then discussions in the comments, I feel like I'm more than comfortable telling fandom about my real life fiction, although the other way around is still "tricky ( Read more... )

Woo!

go you!

I am flat broke but will put it on my wish list for later. \o/

Thanks!
It's my real name! I was going to go with a pen name and after asking my friends and fam the vote was pretty unanimous for "REAL NAME"

but the first time I saw it on the cover, I laughed because it seems so ridiculous/strange to see my name there!
:D

EEE! Very cool--and exciting, too, yes? Congratulations! The offer to do a blog post still stands if the market matches, that is. :-)

I'm SUPER EXCITED!

I would like to do a blog post when it's official. Looking into the urban fantasy market, I'm finding a lot of readers enjoy M/M as well. I think it could be a good crossover. what do you think?

I do, I just want to make sure that no one will get upset about going to a M/M site. Run it past your publisher, maybe? If they are cool with it, I can probably help you get a blog tour started. :-)

I will double check with them but I don't think they'll have a problem with it and if they DO have a problem with it, I will be seriously reconsidering book 2 with them! but in all honesty, I can't see them taking issue. one of the other books they are releasing, First Light, features two m/m relationships in the book and one of the couples is quite prominent with one half being a main protagonist and the other half being VERY integral to the story.

but! I will double check!

okay, so is a blog tour like blog hopping? I DON'T KNOW ALL THE LINGO!

WOW! that was fast! I hope you enjoy it. It's not our usual fare. Sadly, I just couldn't figure out how to add a hunky flyboy and his snarky astrophysicist boyfriend.
but there's always the sequels.....;)

THANKS! on the one hand, I've been very excited but on the other hand, I feel like I've been writing for so long that it's just another one of my stories! and I don't mean that in a "HO HUM ANOTHER STORY" way but just.... well, this is another story and they're all very dear to me! This one is no better nor worse than the others!

I'm interested to know about your experience with this publisher - they seem quite new.

They are. I'm part of their first release. I have to say, I've had a GREAT experience with them. They are small, but I have a very good 'vibe' - which may sound strange, but I don't know how else to explain it! I saw on the LJ specfic markets that Fable was looking for submissions and I just... got a good feeling off it. and I hemmed and hawed [due to my own feet dragging about submissions] and I finally did submit and I've just had nothing but a really great experience so far ( ... )
