One of the reasons I am such an advocate for GLBTQ rights is because I am an advocate for civil rights, and as such, together all minorities can make up a majority.
That would work if the opposition played fair. But they don't. They have done everything in their power to play to their powerbase to see they stay in power--even if it means attacking women, gays, POC, firefighters, teachers, the poor, etc along the way.
I say in 2014,we vote all the bastards out. Unfortunately, by then they will have tied up the laws in such a fashion that even if they fail to be re-elected, they will somehow retain office.

And also by making that argument you're leaving out a portion of your population that DON'T support your religion! HOW is this a good idea?? let's say your entire law is based on a religion. All someone has to do is say "yo. Not my religion. that law does not apply to me."
