So, one of my coworkers is married to the director of the YMCA where I work out (hypothetically- due to stupid road construction, I haven't been in in over 2 months). Said coworker's spouse asked said coworker to ask me if I would like to be on the Board of Directors. It's volunteer, with meetings 1-2 times a month. Huh.

mwah hahaha! it'll eat your life but do it. I always swear I won't but I do and it ends up being cool, usually. except ask if they are planning any special fundraising campaigns this year - and how long the board term is, if you are an at-large member, or what population you represent, etc. - that kind of thing. Because if they are doing any special big fundraising push, it will REALLY eat your life.

How cool is that! She must think you'd be an asset to ask you.

I love my stints on boards. It's fun, it's invigorating, and to be a part of the Y would be interesting as well. I'd like to get more involved with our YWCA here.
