Benedict is still a boring choice. Fifteen other popes have chosen it before. What will be distinct about this one? It's a humble choice, I guess, but I would have liked for him to either pick a really old-timey Pope name, like Anacletus, Eleutherius, or my all-time favorite, Boniface. Although really, I would have liked for him to break new ground and pick an all-new Pope name. Are they still allowed to do that? It could be something German. Pope Adolf Hitler II, for instance.
