"You can't owl a kitten!" The less interesting version of Zoey (also known as Carrie) protested as soon as Zoey had asked the room at large how you could manage it.

"You can," Zoey protested, knowing full well that it had to be possible.
"Can't."
"Can."

The two words were repeated by the two girls. They seemed to lean closer to each other everytime they said something.

"Why can't you?" Tyler finally asked. He was sick of the girls fighting every day. Really, he just wanted Ben to make a decision and stick with one instead of having the appearance of dating Carrie even though he treated Zoey more like his girlfriend. It was all very childish and lame.

"Because," Carri huffed and sat on the edge of the kitchen table beside where Ben sat in a chair. "They're alive. You can't take the risk."

"When Boone was a puppy, they owled him to me," Zoey pointed out as the cat in question mewed from it's spot in the floor at her feet.

She really hated cats.

Carrie went on about how much of a lie that must be until Jackson stepped in and explained that it had been the only way to get the puppy from the store to Portpatrick to Zoey while he had been in school and ordered it to keep her company. "I don't see why I can't just have it. Ben, I could have Pookie, couldn't I?" She batted her eyelashes at him but he was unphased.

"Pookie? What the hell is a Pookie?" Even as he asked, Zoey and Tyler were making faces at the little name.

"That'd be Cat," Zoey explained as she picked the thing up. It really was quite lovable and started purring as soon as it had the attention.

"Give her here," Ben motioned for the cat and took it. "We're sending Trash to a friend."

"I'm a friend," Carrie intensified her pout and Zoey mock gagged. "I'm more than a friend, love."

"You're just a girl," Ben told her. Before the information had time to fully process for anyone, Ben walked out to find the carrier he had from when someone stupid had sent him a few nifflers as a birthday present.

"That's a burn, sugar," Zoey finally laughed and went to write the letter she'd send with the cat.

[work with me here, pretend they're in different handwriting]
Lavender,

Right so...Good luck with this thing. It sheds all over the place. -Jackson
If it is even in one piece when you get it. We guessed on how many owls to use. -Ben
I told them to use an extra, but they're cheap bastards. Come see me your next break. -Tyler
But only if you can be quiet. -Jackson
You're damn loud. I don't like hearing it. -Ben
Even if Ben gets Zoey louder. -Tyler.

Sorry about them, sugar. They can't be good even long enough to write 1 line on some paper. Here's your cat. Hope you like it. It's sweet enough I guess. Real cuddly. I don't like it too much, but I never liked cats.

Benny dumped Care Bear.

When's Hogsmeade?
