As far as I am concerned, Thanksgiving starts the holiday season (which will conclude somewhere between January 1-12, depending on how you feel about Three Kings Day). Also, in the tradition of my mother-in-law, the day after Thanksgiving begins my birthday month (which continues until Christmas Eve). My family had a sort of birthday week idea,

I'm glad you like the movie, Jess. I saw it with my sister last week. I think that because I liked the books so much, the movie was a bit of a disappointment for me. You make a good point about watching movies before reading the book...I may have enjoyed it if I had seen it first. My only concern about that argument is that some people might decide NOT to read any given book because of the movie. But, since you had already difinitively decided you were going to read it...that's not a problem ;-)

p.s. we had snow this morning. did you get any in the city?
