they are a strange raw punkish trio that write their songs in all seriousness, using only silly metaphors. (or so i think.) the motive of that first verse probably follows along the lines of "get up early, seize the day." but this is mclusky we're talking about, so they have to say it in the most lewd way possible. either they really mean that they would like to have a woody by 10:30 am every morning or it's merely (crude) symbolism for wanting to make the most of themselves.

of course, it's always up for interpretation with them. i have yet to decide whether or not mclusky should be taken literally or metaphorically, but the combination of both makes it the most enjoyable.
