INDEED. And John really wouldn't think twice about having a fun time with an Emperor for a few years, Hadrian was well-liked and it would have certainly given him access to a wealth of new experiences (Elusinian Mysteries??)

How was he to know that the Emperor would fall so desperately in love with him?? ;___;

Aww John ;__; It's really heartbreaking because John has always wanted a partner, hasn't he? And obviously it can't be Hadrian but a couple years of such devotion must make having to go back to not having one be so much harder. ;__; And of course he'd never want to hurt someone he loves and who loves him, but on top of him not aging, the older he gets the more likely some conspirator is to try and off him and that'll REALLY cause trouble :(

I do love his voice of reason being Leon. He really does need a friend to help him out (and I do so love little Leon being the oldest. He deserves the respect for his competence no matter his age, mind you.)

I know, I know. For all I'm trying to keep it light, this can't be anything but a tragedy. John wants an immortal lover/spouse and Daniel won't be born for over a thousand years. At best he can be with Hadrian a few years and then everyone is going to get suspicious about why he isn't getting older.

I could not making Leon the focus of this au. He's such a sweet looking youngster and really he's this ancient, dangerous warrior. He also has twice as much sense as John (which isn't hard) and is going to be really annoyed he has to rescue his friend. 😜

John is so ~creative~ hehe. I mean of course it's better to be safe than sorry but I'm sure he's not at all put out that he's had to offer his emperor a threesome. And really it's all _Leon's_ fault for putting them in such a risky situation ;) ;) ;)

Ah, poor boys. Even when Rome is a Very Good Time it's still a bad time in the end. (But a few naughty memories to enjoy might make it worth it? ;) )

I'm glad you like it. Every time I tried to write John would pop up saying "so if I'm caught talking to Leon, I could claim I recruited him for a threesome." Which was too fun an idea to let go. 😍

Besides, poor Hadrian deserved a little extra to make up for all the sadness he's going to have to face.
