ドカ食い

Meaning: to devour in a rough fast way

Example: すごいドカ食い。

Notes: Just thought I'd mention this word, since a friend misused the word 'やけ食い', which means to eat large amounts because of stress. She was supposed to use ドカ食い. However, やけ食い is more often used.

I'd be willing to bet it's 「ドカぐい」, myself.

Do women say this too? I was taught that "kuu" is a rather masculine word to use, or have the times changed? :)

My mom gets mortified when I say '食う' instead of '食べる', so I don't use it much; but to tell the truth, I go to an all-girls school and most of my friends use 食う instead. The japanese middle-schoolers these days use are pretty rough, like 'しらねーよ', etc. However, I think ドカ食い and ヤケ食い are normal and most people use it, since you wouldn't say ドカ食べる.
