anecdote re smell and memory

Several times before, I've had a huge swath of memories pop back into my awareness at the notice of a simple smell. Last night I was riding home, perhaps a bit hungry, and the funniest thing triggered it. It was just the smell of a certain flavoring used in the TV dinner version of mexican rice. I'll bet you don't give them _any_ TV dinners! Can you guess what smell(s) would be most evocative for them as adults? Maybe you should make a point of serving the same thing every time the situation is all quiet and loving with no problems looming. That might be a way of providing calming in the future when they're troubled.

If they would eat TV dinners... But they're very picky. Probably have to have a TV dinner with their favorite action figure or cartoon on it. (Possible marketing serendipity here).
