As you all know, I haven't been keeping up w/ LJ for a good long time.

Well, w/in the last couple weeks, I've started to revisit my interest in "Crazy Expensive Dolls", so I logged into small-cosmos, my doll LJ, & saw a FL-centric doll comm I'd never seen before. I joined it, & the last entry talked about a young lady who was fighting an illness, not doing

Ugh. I went and read her lj a bit as well as her dad's posts. So very sad. Very sobering sa well.

I do want to say though that a loss of a loved one at any stage is more than enough reason to make you 'feel pathetic'. Don't belittle your feelings.

Shitty things happen in the world and there are things we can affect and things we can't. You didn't know this girl and found out about her death after the fact so there was no way you could affect her outcome or even her momentary happiness so you shouldn't feel guilty for that. Your feelings for your mom are a sperate entity entirely and should have nothing whatsoever to do with what happened to that girl. Sure, you can compare the two as you have done for purposes of perspective, but you shouldn't have any negative feelings because you loved and miss your mom and this girl died also
