Jumping on the meme-bandwagon once more.
1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by asking you ANY five questions.
3. You WILL update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.
So
fub asked me the following:
1. You post book reviews of the books you finish. However, you're not doing that as frequently as you used to do. Do you read fewer books? If so, what do you do in the time you used to read?
When I read books, it's mainly to & from work in the train. However, there is a definite lump, because the current book I'm reading requires a person to be awake & in-full-thinking-mode. However, in the train, I'm either not awake yet or my mind is stuffed after a day's work. So I end up not reading it a lot.
I have read other stuff in the mean time, but it was less suitable for reviews, because they're:
a) parts 2&3 of something I already reviewed and so I'd only say "If you liked the first book..."
b) flodderromans (I have cravings to read them once in a while, but I'm so not reviewing them)
c) Watchmen (I'm also not gonna get deeply into graphic novels)
Plus, the competitor for my free-time in the train is my Nintendo DS and I have been playing some fun time-consuming games on that lately (Viva Pinata & Phoenix Wright).
So, all in all valid reasons. However, it also means that the pile of unread-books is increasing. But I'm sure I'll be doing some more in the nearby future.
2. Describe your ideal date.
Well, when it comes to being on a date with someone, whom you are not (yet) in a relationship, then I can't really say anything. Because I've only been on such a date once and I didn't even realise it was a date at the time!
So let's just change the question into "my ideal date with Patrick". It would involve a nice dinner, something fun to do (going to a good movie, sight-seeing in a beautiful city), a surprise present and it would finish with snuggling on the couch and a warm cup of tea.
3. What hobby are you interested in, but never got around to investigate further?
Hmmm... I don't really see myself as a hobby-person. Especially compared to you, who seems to pick up something new every couple of months.
I do regret my lack of story-writing these last years. I have sometimes done it in the past. And it seems that while I enjoy doing it once I'm doing it, I simply always have a great "drempel" to cross in order to get started. Plus, with work my mind is very often tired when I'm home. That doesn't make writing easier either.
4. Do you see your job as a carreer, or as something to pay the bills? What are you doing in five years time, job-wise?
Hey, those are two questions! No cheating. ;)
4a.
Neither!
I do not see it as merely something to pay the bills (thank God).
But I don't see it as a career either.
That is because I fully enjoy the work I'm doing, my colleagues are great people, I'm proud of what I achieve and I have plenty of opportunity to develop.
However, I don't see it as a career, because I don't really think about "careers". I'm not doing this work to get anywhere. I'm doing it, because right now, I enjoy doing it. And where I end up 5 years with that... who knows.
So, guess I answered the second question as well after all.
5. Do you see yourself getting married and/or having kids? If so, are there some things you plan to do before then?
In line of the 5-year-job-question: no idea.
Neither me nor Patrick feel the desire to have a big wedding. So if we ever get married, it will likely be to easily sort out legal stuff.
Kids: really no idea. At all. Luckily, my egg-clock isn't ticking yet.
