A friend of mine is trying to get records of who donated money to the Lawndale Art Center (http://www.lawndaleartcenter.org/).

There's speculation that artists who AREN'T donating members are being denied the chance to show their art, even though the center says it's not true and they wouldn't deny people because of this. It turns out that pretty much ALL of the people who are trying to show art there who HAVEN'T donated have been denied without explantion... but the artists who HAVE donated large amounts are being accepted.
