Thank you for reminding me about the movie. I read 'The Girl With All The Gifts' ages ago and forgot it was being made into a movie. It's not going to be released until mid October in the US but I can't wait. You are so right about smart zombie movies being rare and I am in the mood for one right now.

No problem. The movie is starting to gather some really good reviews over here from what I can tell - and its unusual for us to get a movie before it is released in the US so I am enjoying that novelty!

Do you like zombie books as well as the movies? Charlie Higson wrote a great series of books (you may have seen them) starting with 'The Enemy'. These are aimed at a YA readership but are also British, set in Lpost zombie London and feature a well thought out, sound biological life cycle for the virus. I cannot recommend these enough.

I have read the first couple "The Enemy" books. I enjoyed them immensely. I just looked it up on goodreads and I didn't realize that there were 7 in the series so I will have to see if my library can get them. Thank you for the recommendation/reminder.

No worries. I did much the same when I was reading the series. For me there was a gap of several years before I remembered that I really should go back and check the rest of the series out. They make quite a satisfying set if you can get all of them.

Is there anything else you have read and enjoyed from the genre?

I haven't read the book yet. For my money the film is pretty nuanced but I would be very surprised if the book isn't better than the film - they almost always are.
