Hey!! You're a Parent, and it's time to outgrow the silly high school persona and all the dumb hair extensions and face paint and become one with the "real" world, for instance, you will never be taken for real with your "dead" persona at a parent teacher conference, PTA members won't listen to you when you look like you just came in from a carny. Your son is gonna be embarassed when his friends see you and their parents aren't like you, which they won't be, 90% of parents are "normal" and won't listen to you, and your son will be labeled automatically and he will be an "outcast"....
soooo, get rid of your "dead" persona because it's never going to be accepted in the "real" world, your son can't help it, so you should help him.... Outgrow your facade and join the ranks of a real parent, it'll help your son in the long run.
If this pisses you off, I'm sorry, but welcome to the real world and.......GROW UP!!!!

wow I have no idea who you are and if you can speak your mind so openly than maybe you should let someone know who the fuck you are. Don't you think that with the passing of time I have thought my about my look and him growing up with it. First of all I would attend a PTA meeting dressed like everyone else and second of all if I dropped him off at school I would be dressed normal. I think I am old enough to know that there are 2 different worlds. I know that once I am out of work I can be who I am. So thank for taking the time to write something that I have already heard and thought a million times before!
