Read about that awhile ago. What bothers me is the "official" policy that for many seems like sounds environmental practice:

"Let's limit catches so that we can continue to have high yield catches in the future."

How 'bout no fishing at all, so the fish can live?

Fishing is hunting really, and it makes as much sense as hunting instead of farming. If all animal food came from hunting instead of farming cows, sheep, pigs and poultry, the meat eaters would have starved eons ago.

HAVE YOU SEEN THE SIZE OF A COMMERCIAL TRAWLING NET???

No, seriously, if you haven't, check out Michael Allaby's Introduction to Environmental Sciences text, or maybe you can do an image search. The thing is literally the size of many football fields.

Imagine doing that on land. Imagine putting 4 football fields worth of net on the forest floor and then yanking up every creature in the area. My God, everyone with a conscience would be vegetarian, if that isn't the case already!

dude,

i know, within that article,
totally out of proportion, clearly insane
looking, there are some dudes working a net,
maybe it wasn't in that article...either way,
the picture is really out of context and looks
like a construction site, it's crazy.

are you vegetarian?
