Oh, hey! Hey, you! I've been thinking about you and missing you heaps♥
Totally feeling you on the being adult thing; I'm looking at you, kitchen (srsly, after a full day of work, 3hrs total commute and cooking, I'm spending time with the SO, and not cleaning). But anyway, fuck yeah, job! And volunteer work! Less yeahs on the tropical storm, ugh.
I hope Ernie heals up well! Give him hugs for me\o/. All the best with writing as well. I had the writer's block from hell for the last few mths, and only managed to crack it last week. It was the most frustrating thing ever.
Those shoes are awesome. If my guess is correct, they're Crocs, right? Because I have the vertical version of that style in grey and they are the BEST EVER. AND YES, BATMAN. I haven't been to the movies in an age. Not even for the Avengers, or Ice Age 4 (and I really wanted to see that, too), but I think I know what I'll be using my free tickets that have been sitting around since April for.
And as for me. My life has been consumed by ABC's 'Once Upon a Time'. Please
Also, I am super jealous of your distaster recovery pseudo-zombie experience. I would love to do one of those Run For Your Life 5k/obstacle runs that keep popping up EXCEPT NOT IN ITALY WTF - so my envy currently knows no bounds. Even tangential zombie awesome is more than I've got (sad face).
Also also, I wrote some Snow White fic because REASONS. Come over and give me your honest unbiased made of adorbs feedback.
Oh man, a few Halloweens ago my crew and I went to this night time paintball event that was zombie themed--like, you got into squads, you were briefed in a pseudo-military style, and then ZOMBIES (people in masks/helmets, so you could headshot them) ATTACKED. It was awesome. At one point you're in this tent and there's a horrible scream and something starts clawing down the tent--I was out the other end and on the opposite side of a meadow before anyone else reacted. SUPER FUN. I don't think I hit anything; I just ran around screaming and flailing and thoroughly enjoying myself with periodic breaks to shoot into the darkness. YOU SHOULD DO THIS SOMETIME.
If I did not live here, I would basically only visit the good old USA for Halloween shenanigans.
Snow White fic! I found it on your journal, yay! Do I need to have seen the movie before I read it, or can I roll around in the glory anyway?
I kinda think that it's pretty normal Snow White stuff - like maybe only that the "Evil Queen" gets a name this time, which I'm so sad is like the biggest step forward this movie makes and yet is still SEXIST DIRTBAG AWFUL OMG.
Srsly, I spent like the whole movie alternating between stunned really? silence and fighting the urge to cover my son's ears so the creep-o-rama didn't infect his baby brain.
But the fic (while also creepy because I can't fix a whole movie's worth of creep) should be pretty relatable if you're conversant with the fairy tale. Let me know!
*pounces and glomps* Dude, I swear you must have heard my psychic call from across the Atlantic; I was just thinking about you yesterday.
Congrats on the job! Go you! But, yes, I totally hear you on the work overload. I keep forgetting to post/comment/respond to PMs, and then I look up and SIX MONTHS has somehow passed. I opened a fic in GDocs the other day, all afire to finish it, and realised I'd last accessed the file 342 days ago. Yeesh.
Hugs to Ernie! Good luck trying to keep a bullie from bouncing all over the place. ;)
TDKR: SO EXCITE! I have tickets for Friday. I couldn't stop myself buying the soundtrack, and I've already listened to it about 20 times. I've probably spoiled myself for every emotional arc, but whatevs. BATSY!
Dude, I must have. Total random brain wave hit me yesterday and I was suddenly like, THE TIME IS NOW! TO LJ!
Oh, god, WIPs in gdocs. The worst are all the collab things that I realize someone else was last to work on, like--six months ago. And my whole XMFC experience seems like a dirty summer fling since I never finished anything once I shoved my face in. sigh.
Ernie is pouting SO HARD about everything. There are bullies that are happy to cuddle, lounge around, sprawl languidly--and then there is my dog. He keeps on trying to bunny hop everywhere at super high speed, and he gives me this WHY DON'T YOU LOVE ME look when I make him stop saying bipedal hello, and he keeps on nosing in his toybox to be all WHY DID YOU TAKE ALL MY BALLS AWAY, MOM, WHY?dskjjsadklsfadlkdskl BATSY. I honestly do not know how I am going to contain my excitement. I bought the biggest size of little boy briefs the other week and shoved myself into them, because: Batman. I bought the big pillow buddy plush off e bay, finally. God. ohmygod i'm going to explode
( ... )
NOTHING IS BEAUTIFUL AND EVERYTHING HURTS OH MY GOD. Honestly, it had been YEARS since the last read it--maybe a decade--and I was sure, so sure, that the ending would not touch me at all because I've grown into such a joyfully bleak warped little thing. but AAAHHH, I WANT HIM TO WIN. dark!AU where he becomes a hunter! Roland shows up and they dimension hop! WHATEVER, SOMETHING.
And thanks on the congrats. I do like feeling DRTy.
Omg, wow, I completely confused this with The Long Walk, another Bachman story, which killed me when I read it. Why so many pedestrian titles, Mr. King?

Also for yeeears I refused to read any straight up King and sneered at everything but the Bachman books. And then: Roland.
But yes, so many pedestrian titles.
