The Keybaord Chronicles!, Part 3

My USB adapter arrived last night!

Got it cheap off Amazon. I'm told this is one of the better versions, acting as an actual signal converter as opposed to simply changing the plug shape. This allows it to be instantly recognized as a standard USB keyboard, without Windows having to initialize it.

I realized I'd forgotten to get a good snapshot of the cord this thing uses, so here's a picture of it, an ancient dirty thing that looks like it would be at home in some industrial operation, connected to a svelte little modern USB plug. The discrepancy is so adorable! =D

But never mind all that! Did it work?!

YES! Its numberlock light glows with an intent ferocity, as though DARING the sleek, modern equipment around it to question its wisdom and authority! And it types real good, too. Clickety clickety clickety.

So I guess I didn't need the socket wrench after all! Still, it was cheap, and it's a good thing to have around, just in case an internal mechanism breaks, or when the plastic casing gets so dirty that I can't stand it anymore.

And that's the story of how I discovered Atlantis restored a Model M! AND NOW YOU CAN TOO!
