I was just watching Jenny Jones earlier on ('cos we all know how much I love my trashy tv, hehe), &they had kids on who were really badly behaved &out of control. &basically, they were beating people up, stealing, setting fire to stuff, being disrespectful to everyone, &the parents were doing fuck all about it, or just telling them to stop. I can ( Read more... )

There is room for abuse, but I'm not having any kid of mine talk to me like that without them getting a slap.

Yeh, well if they were my kids they'd know that if they even tried to hit me I'd just block 'em. I guess you're right about trying to control them psychologically, but like I said, when I was a bairn, even being threatened with a smack was enough to make you stop in your tracks.

I would smack my kids too, if they were being disrespectful.

My mother liked to use the wooden spoon on my ass, and the fatherly unit loved the belt.

I would just use my hand if i had a kid. :?

Show your kids that you love them by beating them! caroline_rose88 June 17 2004, 11:24:03 UTC

I think you'll enjoy this. They don't have Jenny Jones in the States anymore, it got cancelled last year. I love trashy TV too, do they have Dr. Phil in the UK? It's the ultimate in trashy TV now, since there's no Jenny Jones or Jerry Springer anymore. He's the expert on everything! (It's basically producted placement with the guise of pop psychology)

The sad thing is, I watch Dr. Phil everyday. I get used to doing the same things everyday.

i saw it earlier, it made me quite upset actually when they had the scary bloke shouting at those 2 boys, the 7 and 8 year old who smoked and smashed car windows. because they cried and i'm too much of a softy when it comes to children. and he made them run really fast off the stage and it was horrible.

Hehe, I laughed at that. :P I'm going to hell.
Well, I'm sorry, but if some little shit is going to go round breaking car windows &setting fire to all his mum's clothes &belongings, then the LEAST they're getting is told off!

yeah but it's probably due to shit parenting aswell. and lack of a good role model, their dad was in prison. i think it was just that them getting upset so instantly proved that really they're just little kids and needed some discipline in the first place, instead of getting away with it all until then.

Yeh, that was pretty much what I said to Kate yesterday; if kids learn early on that they can't get away with murder, they're less likely to misbehave like that.
