Yes, I am aware that was totally lame :)

So, I wasn't at all happy with the photography I did of my little hats. I didn't like the background, as it just gets in the way and, whilst I like my little glass hatstand/candlestick, I think the hats really need to be seen in context. Next stop, mannequin purchase...

Hmm... I prefer what you've got there to the one that you fancy. But on the whole, mannequins - tricky. Are you selling your hats on eBay/Etsy? Would love to see.

Interesting... What is it you like about the original/don't like about the fancy painted one? I started making the hats just for fun and because I like wearing hats, but so many people have asked me about them, I think I might have a bash at Etsy after all :)

I think I find the painted one mildly creepy because of some subtleties in the execution, I think. It is slightly a bit too made-up for me, a bit clownish. I have definitely seen retro ones that I like - they're just a bit less made-up and stylised, slightly more human.

Etsy is so good because people are going there looking especially for handmade stuff... so you don't have to 'find your market' in the way that you do elsewhere. A lot of people have a shop on Etsy and one on Ebay as well.

Actually, it's mainly the big pink kisser. I think if she had normal lips she'd look far less creepy to me. Plus maybe the rouge is a bit much :)

All just my taste though.
